German Valley Historical Society Museum

What's Happening at the German Valley Historical Society Museum...

•Celebrate International Museum Day with us on Sunday, May 17th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the museum "house".  Learn about the Febrary 7, 1907 train wreck that went through the German Valley Grain Elevator. Examine an actual hair wreath from the 1800's. Visit our Research Room to find an ancestor or perhaps find yourself in one of the resource books in our collection!

•A program that you surely won't want to miss is — A League of Their Own: The Real Story of the Rockford Peaches. Join us on Sunday, June 28 at 1:30 pm to listen to guest speaker, Sue Saunders from Midway Village in Rockford, Illinois. Through her talents as a storyteller, Sue will guides us as we explore how these remarkable women played professional baseball during World War II and helped to change the face of sports history. Sue will also be bringing Rockford Peaches artifacts to highlight her multi-media presentation.

There is no admission charge for our programs, but donations are welcome.
Refreshments will be served at the end of the presentation.
